Look Back - The Broncos have competed in six
meets this season with the men placing in the top-five as a team in all six
meets. The women have placed in the top-10 as a team in five of the meets. Most
recently, the team traveled to Reno, Nev., to compete in the Western Athletic
Conference Championships. There the men placed third while the women placed
sixth. Freshman Kevin Rosaeen led the men with his fifth-place finish, good for
the WAC Freshman of the Year honor as well as All-WAC First Team. Freshman
Shannon Porter led the women's team with her sixth-place finish, making the All-WAC
First-Team. For the men, junior Sawyer Bosch and freshman Jeff Howard were
named to the All-WAC Second Team for their 11th and 14th-place
finishes, respectively. ► This Week's Racers- As already mentioned, Shannon Porter will be the only competitor for the Bronco women. On the men's side, Boise State will be represented by Sawyer Bosch, Scott Foley, Kevin Higgs, Jeff Howard, Brian Pierre, Kevin Rosaaen and Zach Wiles. ► Thoughts From Coach Wick - "Our men's team is still waiting to put together a really good race this season. If everyone can run a solid race then I think we can really surprise a lot of teams." "This meet will be a really great experience for Shannon as well as an opportunity to race against some of the best teams and individuals in the country." "The biggest key for both the men's team and Shannon will be to stay relaxed and work their way through the masses of runners." |
