Broncos to Face Vandals in First Match of 2009 WAC Volleyball Tournament ►
What's Happening - Boise State volleyball is headed to
Las Vegas, Nev., to participate in the 2009 Western Athletic Conference
volleyball tournament held at the Orleans Arena. This is the first year the
tournament is played at a neutral site as well as the first time it has been in
a six-team format. The Broncos enter the tournament as the No. 6-seed and will
face No. 3-seeded Idaho in a 6:00 pm (MT) match on Monday, Nov. 23. ► Bronco Blog - The Boise State volleyball team will be blogging their experiences from the 2009 WAC Tournament. Maughan makes her first appearance on the total career blocks chart with 284.0 career blocks, knocking out Julie Kaulius (1994-97). Maughan holds the No. 4 spot for all-time career points with 798.0 (No. 3 is 802.0 points). Young sits in No. 5 with 747.0 career points. This is since the inception of rally scoring (and point scoring) in 2001. Maughan and Young also moved up after the Idaho match in the single season total points record books with Maughan holding the No. 7 spot presently with 326.0 points this season. Young sits at No. 9 with 319.0 points. Lauren Hamm sits at a tie for ninth in the all-time career digs category, hitting the 1,010 career digs mark. Look at the Broncos - The Broncos are led by Alisha Young in
kills with 271 on the season, while Sadie Maughan is just behind with 267
kills. Maughan holds the leading mark in hitting percentage this season with .248
as well as most team points with 326.0 points and blocks with 106.0 total this
season. Breann Nesselhuf leads the team's assists category with 872this season,
while Jeanene Rose has collected 21 service aces to lead the team. Amanda Remy leads
the team in digs with 288. |
