FRESHMAN (2008):  In General - Played in 15 of the team’s 20 matches as a reserve forward. Statistically - Scored one goal for two points on the season ... placed three of six shots on goal. Other Highlights - First action as a Bronco came in season opener against Northwest Nazarene on Aug. 22 ... scored first career goal at Montana.

HIGH SCHOOL:  In General - 2008 graduate of Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Wash. ... three-year member of Wolves varsity team ... started at forward last two seasons. Honors - Two-time honorable mention All-KingCo Conference honoree ... team captain as senior. Statistically - In three seasons competed in 58 matches with 49 starts accumulating 20 goals and 18 assists, including eight goals and six assists as a senior. Other Highlights - Senior season led team to an undefeated campaign at 19-0-0, the KingCo Conference title, the 4A Washington state championship, and a national team ranking of six by the NSCAA ... during three-year varsity career Eastlake High went 45-7-5 overall and 31-5-4 in league ... team placed third at state junior season ... high school coach was Chuck Krieble ... also competed in track, earning three letters running the 4x200 and 4x1600 relays, and the 400 meter dash. Club - played club ball for both the FC Alliance ‘89 Gold of Bothell, Wash., U17-U18 and Crossfire ‘89 Williams of Redmond, Wash., U15-U16 ... was a four-year starter at both the forward (U16-U18) and midfield (U15) positions.

ACADEMICS: Majoring in sociology ... academic All-WAC as freshman.

 

 

Question and Answer with Molly...

 

Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: Africa because I think going on a safari would be the sweetest thing ever.

Q: Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
A: Don Bartel. He taught at my high school and taught me a lot about myself and how life should be lived.

Q: Something that many people don’t know about you is?
A: I went to the Winter Olympics in 2002 in Utah and went to the bobsled, solemn ski and giant ski jump.

Q: What is your favorite sport besides soccer?
A: Probably football, college football in particular. I love the sport and find everything about the atmosphere fun.

Q: When you were growing up, what brought/drew you to soccer?
A: My parents put me in it when I was little and then it just started become part of my life.

Q: Your hero in life is?
A: My parents.

Q: Your favorite movie is?
A: I don’t have one single favorite movie but my favorite genre is romantic comedies.

Q: Your favorite TV show is?
A: Greys Anatomy.

Q: When you were little you wanted to be?
A: A professional soccer player or a doctor.

Q: Your motto is?
A: “When you do something, you should burn yourself completely, like a good bonfire, leaving no trace of yourself.”

Q: One word that best describes you?
A: I asked my teammates because I had no idea how to describe myself and the word they chose was jolly. So I guess now I’m Jolly Molly.

Q: Your autobiography would be titled?
A: True Life…I have long fingers.

Q: If you could spend one day in history it would be with what historical figure and why?
A: Walt Disney because Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth.

Q: What made you decide to come to Boise State?
A: A random chain of events. Also, the players and coaches made me comfortable and welcome.

Q: What has surprised you most about college and why?
A: That I could manage to sleep on a mattress on Chelsea and Ashley’s floor for a full semester with post soccer/weights socks walking across it, crumbs spilled on it and Chelsea’s sneezes misted on it.

Q: What’s your favorite class and why?
A: Theatre 220 with nine of my teammates.

Q: Since coming to Boise State, you’ve learned?
A: I’ve learned that making dinner for myself isn’t as good as when my mom makes it.

Q: Your favorite thing about the city of Boise is?
A: The people. Everyone here is so nice and friendly.

Q: What do you like best about the coaching staff in general?
A: Steve, and Mark’s movie quotes and Steph’s candy jar.

Q: What do you like best about the team in general?
A: How much we laugh and have fun together. Also, we work hard for each other and do all we can to not let anyone down.

Q: Do you have a nickname that your teammates gave you? What is it and why that name?
A: Molls, Molls Balls, and Gigantor.  Gigantor was given to me during the 7 a side tournament. It’s because I’m the tallest on the team and have really long fingers...you know just a name everyone would love to have.

Q: What two schools do you see as Boise State’s main rivals?
A: Utah State and Hawaii…bring it on!

Q: Which teammate would win “America’s Most Talented,” and why?
A: Chelsea, for her ability to sing.

Q: Which teammate would win “America’s Next Top Model,” and why?
A: Mandy. She is just, well…Mandy.

Q: Which teammate would win “Survivor,” and why?
A: Jayne. A scrappy, competitive and hardworking person who would not only do well in the physical competitions but would also be someone people would want to align with because of her personality and honesty.
