LAS CRUCES, N.M. - In their first road match in over two and a half weeks, the Boise State volleyball team had a tough task ahead of them with New Mexico State on Thursday evening. The Broncos (5-19, 5-7 WAC) were coming off three straight home wins, but were taking on a solid Aggie team (15-8, 10-3 WAC) who finished the night in a quick 25-16, 25-23, 25-12 win over the Broncos.

The Aggies fed off a strong hitting night, producing a .356 percentage on 48 kills, 11 errors and 104 attempts. The Broncos were held to .109 on the night with 32 kills.

The Broncos' biggest challenge of the night was their lack of defense at the net, earning only four individual blocks and three team blocks. NMSU was able to produce 17 individual blocks and 10 team blocks.

Leading the Boise State offensive efforts was junior Alisha Young who tallied nine kills on the night. Young also added one block and one service ace. Sophomore Breann Nesselhuf tallied 26 assists, a .250 percentage with two kills, five digs, one service ace and one solo block. Producing the team's only other service ace was freshman Liz Harden who also led the team in blocks with one solo and one assist. Senior Jeanene Rose led the team's efforts in the backcourt with 12 digs.

New Mexico State was led by Kayleigh Giddens who produced the only double-double of the match with 15 kills (.393) and 11 digs while also adding a match-high of two service aces as well as one solo block. Kelsi Phillips led the match in digs with 14 while Erin Birmingham and Kelli Goodan led the match with four blocks apiece.

The Broncos continue their road trip over the weekend in Ruston, La., when they take on Louisiana Tech for the second time in a week on Saturday, Nov. 7. The match is slated for 3 p.m. (MT).
