PROVO, Utah – The Boise State swimming and diving team went 2-1 in their first of two meets in the state of Utah on Friday. The Broncos emerged victorious over New Mexico and Seattle (201-97 over UNM, 228-64), but fell to BYU 199-99 in the quad meet. Stephanie North continued to roll with a pair of overall first-place finishes.

North took the overall title in the 50 free with a time of 23.68 to score some big points for the Broncos. She also took the overall title in the 100 free with a time of 51.78. In addition to her overall titles, North helped both the Bronco relay teams to second place overall finishes, finishing behind the BYU team twice but taking the top spot over New Mexico and Seattle.

Jennifer Cahill continued to shine in her freshman year as she tied her own school record in the 1000 free with a time of 10:23.16. She finished third against BYU and first against the Lobos and Redhawks. She recorded the same places in the 500 free with a time of 5:02.10.

Amber Boucher and Morgan McLain teamed up to take first over New Mexico and Seattle in the 200 free and 100 back, respectively. Both swimmers finished second overall to their rivals from BYU. McLain took the same placing in the 200 back as did Boucher in the 100 fly.

Emily Irvin took the top spot over New Mexico in the 100 breast but took second against BYU and Seattle with a time of 1:05.83. Erin Stotts touched with the same placing at 2:23.94 in the 200 breast.

Chelsea Lopus took the only other overall title for the Broncos in the 200 IM. The senior hit the wall at 2:08.30 for the top spot in front of freshman Chrisine Raininger. Raininger finished at 2:09.20 to sweep the top-2 spots overall for the Broncos. She also took first place points over New Mexico and Seattle in the 100 fly but finished third against BYU.

The Broncos complete their road trip through Utah with another quad meet in Salt Lake City on Saturday. New Mexico and Seattle will join in the meet on the campus of the University of Utah at 1 p.m.
