KYLE WILSON NAMED TO PLAYBOY MAGAZINE’S 2009 PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM
COURTESY: BOISE STATE SPORTS INFORMATION           RELEASE: 07/02/2009

BOISE, Idaho – Kyle Wilson, a senior at Boise State University, has been named to the 2009 Playboy Preseason All-America team.

The announcement marks only the second time in Bronco history a player has been named to the magazine’s preseason All-America team.  Ryan Clady, an offensive tackle and first round draft choice of the Denver Broncos, was named to the team prior to the 2007 season.

Wilson, a native of Piscataway, N.J., is considered by several preseason publications as one of the top defensive players in the country.  Last month USA Today selected the cornerback / punt returner as a first round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.  In its brief commentary on the 32 players selected by USA Today as first round picks, the national newspaper stated “Not only does he have excellent coverage skills, but last year Wilson averaged 14.2 yards on punt returns with three touchdowns.”

As a junior in 2008, Wilson eared second team All-American honors as a punt returner from Sporting News and SI.com as he returned 33 punts for 470 yards and three scores.

He also received first team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors on defense last year making 35 tackles and leading the Broncos with five interceptions.

Boise State opens the 2009 season on Sept. 3 (Thursday) at Bronco Stadium against the University of Oregon in a nationally televised ESPN game.
