FRESHMAN (2008):  In General - Split time as starting goalkeeper with eight starts in nine games played. Statistically - Recorded a 1.03 goals against average allowing nine goals in nine contests ... 43 saves for a .827 save percentage on the year ... three shutouts ... record in goal was 4-4-1.  Notable Rankings - Team: top save percentage and goals against average ... League: Third in goals against average and save percentage, and eighth in saves ... Record Book: save percentage ranked as third best in program history. Other Highlights - First action as a Bronco came as the starter against Weber State in Boise on Aug. 31 ... first victory in goal was against Idaho State Sept. 5 ... recorded shutouts against UL Monroe, Idaho and Nevada. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  In General - A 2008 graduate of Capital High School in Boise, Idaho ... four-year starter in goal for the Eagles’ varsity squad. Honors - Two-time All-Southern Idaho Conference first team honoree junior and senior seasons ... SIC Player of the Year as a senior ... two-time team captain ... team honors include player of the year as a sophomore, MVP as a junior, and player of the year and MVP as a senior. Statistically - Recorded 30 shutouts in prep career ... set school record for saves in a season with 169 as a sophomore, recorded 10 shutouts, 89 saves and a 0.89 goals against average as a senior. Other Highlights -  Standout student, four-time member of the National Honors Society and a three-time All-SIC Academic team honoree ... also lettered in basketball ... high school coach was Casey Marlenee. Club - Played club ball for Boise Capitals Soccer Club of Boise, Idaho ... three-year starter in goal ... team won two state cups and advanced to the Far West Region quarterfinals in 2007.

Question and Answer with Liz...

 

Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: Egypt, I have always wanted to see the pyramids for myself.  I would love to travel on camel back to see the pyramids of Giza, cruise down the Nile River, and see all the ancient ruins.

Q: Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
A: My parents. They have raised me into the person I have become today. They have always been there for me in any circumstance without even flinching and have always had my back.

Q: Something that many people don’t know about you is?
A: I was born in Encino, CA but lived in Sullivan, IL for 9 years.

Q: What is your favorite sport besides soccer?
A: Basketball.

Q: When you were growing up, what brought/drew you to soccer?
A: All my friends wanted to play soccer so I decided I wanted to join as well and than became in love with the sport from than on forward.

Q: Your favorite movie is?
A: Green Sreet Holligans.

Q: Your favorite TV show is?
A: Family Guy or E.R.

Q: When you were little you wanted to be?
A: Crime Scene Investigator. I loved watching CSI and sometimes even pretended like I was one of them.

Q: Your motto is?
A: Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, & outcomes. It is a catalyst; a spark that creates extraordinary results.

Q: One word that best describes you?
A: Determined.

Q: What made you decide to come to Boise State?
A: I felt BSU was the right fit for me. The coaching staff and other administration that works with the team were so passionate about helping the team develop and do well in every aspect of the program.

Q: What’s your favorite class and why?
A: I haven’t had one class that I really enjoyed taking yet but I still have three more years of classes to take. I’m sure I’ll run into that class.

Q: Since coming to Boise State, you’ve learned?
A: I’ve learned how to manage my time with such a busy schedule.

Q: Your favorite thing about Boise is?
A: How many different recreational activities there are. You can go skiing or snowboarding and tubing in the winter; in the summer you can go boating, float the river, biking, and so much more. 

Q: What do you like best about the coaching staff in general?
A: They expect a lot out of the talented group of players we have on the team. They never let us settle for second best.

Q: What do you like best about the team in general?
A: The team always knows how to determine when it’s time to laugh and have a good time and when we need to focus in practice and games.

Q: Do you have a nickname that your teammates gave you? What is it and why that name?
A: Some of my teammates, Tiff and Cat, decided on calling me Lizzista. The reason why is unknown. The name just came about one day.

Q: What two schools do you see as Boise State’s main rivals?
A: Utah State and Fresno State.

Q: Which teammate would win “America’s Most Talented,” and why?
A: Kaylea Perenon because not only can she rap to Lil Wayne but she can sure bust a move.

Q: Which teammate would win “Survivor,” and why?
A: Jayne Murray because she is the one that will fight through anything and is smooth about the things she does.
