Agents

The NCAA does not allow student-athletes to be represented by agents.

Student-Athlete/Agent Agreements: A student-athlete who has ever agreed, either verbally or in writing, to be represented by an agent for the purpose of marketing the student-athlete's athletics ability or reputation in his or her sport shall be ineligible for participation in intercollegiate athletics. Furthermore, even if an agreement between an agent and a student-athlete does not specifically limit the agreement to a particular sport or sport, the agreement shall be deemed applicable to all sports and the individual shall be ineligible to participate in any intercollegiate sports.

Student-Athlete/Agent Prospective Agreements: A student-athlete who agrees, either verbally or in writing, to be represented by an agent in future professional sports negotiations for participation in professional competition that will take place after the student-athlete has completed his or her eligibility shall be ineligible to compete in intercollegiate athletics. Additionally, a student-athlete who signs a contract or a commitment that does not become binding until the professional sports organization's representative or agent also signs the agreement will be ineligible to compete in intercollegiate athletics, even if the contract remains unsigned by the other parties until after the student-athlete's eligibility is exhausted.

Benefits from Prospective Agents: A student-athlete who receives benefits from any prospective agents shall be ineligible from participation in intercollegiate athletics. Additionally, if a relative or friend of a student-athlete receives benefits from a prospective agent the student-athlete will be ineligible from participation in intercollegiate athletics.
