Nov. 13, 2017

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State Athletics wants to get Bronco Nation involved in celebrating the performances of our student-athletes, so we are giving Bronco fans the chance to vote on the top Boise State performer each week!

Follow @BroncoSports on Twitter, and vote in our Twitter poll for your Boise State Athlete of the Week every Monday morning, and the occasional Tuesday morning, should a holiday fall on a Monday.

Alexander Mattison | Football | So. | San Bernardino, Calif.
Mattison's career and record-setting night played a major role in the team's 59-52 overtime comeback. The San Bernardino, Calif., native ran for 242 yards and three touchdowns, both career highs, while his rushing yardage was the third-highest single-game total in Boise State history. His 286 yards from scrimmage, which included 44 yards over three receptions, set the program single-game record, eclipsing Thomas Sperbeck's 281 yards against New Mexico on Nov. 14, 2015. Mattison helped spark the Bronco comeback with a pair of touchdowns on either side of halftime Saturday. First, he reversed field to score on a 26-yard run just over a minute before halftime, then broke free for a career-long 70-yard touchdown run on the second play of the third quarter to bring the Broncos to with 35-24. In overtime, Mattison scored his third touchdown, this one from four yards out, which would stand as the game-winner after the Bronco defense forced and recovered a fumble on Colorado State's do-or-die possession. For his efforts, Mattison won Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.

Alex Hobbs | Men's Basketball | So. | La Porte, Texas
Alex Hobbs scored a career-high 21 points in Friday night's season-opening 104-65 win over Eastern Oregon and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field in 25 minutes of play. He followed up that career performance with a 19-point output as the Broncos took care of Southern Utah 90-69 on Sunday evening. Hobbs also tallied two assists and two rebounds against Southern Utah.

Marta Hermida | Women's Basketball | Jr. | Madrid, Spain
Junior guard Marta Hermida came within a rebound and an assist of just the second triple-double in Boise State history, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds and a career-high nine assists in the Broncos' season-opening, 83-51 victory over Northwest Christian Friday night.

Allie Ostrander | Women's Cross Country | RS So. | Kenai, Alaska
Ostrander finished second individually at the NCAA Cross Country West Regional Championships with a time 19:16.5, continuing Boise State's streak of landing a woman in the top three of the region to five-consecutive years. Ostrander's performance, along with the entire Bronco team gave the squad an at-large bid into the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
