Bob Carney, Boise State's Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations and Championships, has served the Broncos' athletic department in several capacities before being promoted to his current role in February of 2013.

Since joining Boise State in 2005, Carney has also served as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations, Athletic Department Facilities/Operations Manager, Stueckle Sky Center Director of Operations, Financial Technician for the Athletics Business Office, Financial Technician for Event Management and, in his first role, Landscape Technician with Operations and Maintenance.

In his current position, Carney works closely with Athletic Director Curt Apsey to foster relationships with donors, raising funds for capital projects and facility improvements, and assists with the overall management of the athletic department. He also oversees all aspects of championship travel for football, including the 2014 VIZIO Fiesta Bowl, and for men's and women's basketball, which each competed in the NCAA Tournament in 2015.

Carney develops bids for hosting postseason competition, ultimately helping to secure the 2018 NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds at Taco Bell Arena in Boise.

During his time as Associate Athletic Director, Carney developed and implemented improvements to the safety and security program at Albertsons Stadium, which resulted in a Facility of Merit Award from the National Center for Spectator Sport Safety and Security.

He also serves as the project manager for all capital projects and facility renovations, including the construction of the Bleymaier Football Center, DeChevrieux Field, Boise State football's grass practice facility, and Dona Larsen Park, a multi-purpose facility that plays host to the Broncos' softball and track and field programs, in addition to high school football games.

Additionally, Carney develops and manages 16 separate budgets for Boise State's facilities and operations departments; serves as a voting member on the both the University Facility Planning Council and the Campus Recreation Advisory Board; develops and manages all memorandums of understandings, requests for proposals and service contracts for the operations department; oversees the athletic department's portion of Boise State's food services contract, including suite catering, alcohol service and concessions; and serves as the department's sport administrator for its wrestling and cheer and dance programs.

Carney also managed and coordinated facility set-up and event operations for a speech by President Barack Obama in Boise State's Caven-Williams Indoor Sports Complex.

Prior to joining Boise State, Carney served as the Director of Operations for Desert Haven Enterprises in Lancaster, Calif., for nearly four years (2001-05), and was a branch and regional manager for Pestmaster Services (1996-2001), also in Lancaster.

He served as an Avionics Electronic Technician and Shift Leader for the United States Air Force from 1992-96 at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. Carney earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Boise State in August 2008.
