Paul Smith is an assistant athletic trainer working with football. Smith started at Boise State as a graduate assistant and earned his Master of Kinesiology with Biophysical Emphasis in May 2014. While a graduate assistant, his primary responsibility was with wrestling. Smith also served as the primary athletic trainer for the Bronco Wrestling Club and provided medical coverage for the Boise Smoke Jumpers Regional Wildfire Firefighting Team for rookie training sessions.

He began his athletic training career after earning his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Boston University in 2012. While an undergraduate student Smith worked with men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's indoor track and field, Boston College football, and Emerson College men's and women's soccer. He was also assistant at the 2012 Boston Marathon.

Smith is currently the National Athletic Trainers' Association Young Professionals representative for the state of Idaho.

Smith was born and raised in Middletown, Conn, and currently resides in Boise with his girlfriend Darlene and their dog Tank. He enjoys spending time with his family, friends and maintaining his beard.
