Tyler Smith is the associate athletic trainer, working with men's basketball and women's tennis. Smith is originally from Boise and a Boise State alum. He supervises the Taco Bell Arena Athletic Training Room and leads the graduate assistant hiring process.
Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in athletic training at Boise State in 2004. He later took a position as a graduate assistant athletic trainer also, at Boise State. While working with the football and men's basketball teams he completed his master's degree in athletic administration from Idaho State University in 2007.
Upon completion of his master's degree, Smith was hired as a full-time assistant athletic trainer, working with the men and women's track and field teams.
Smith also spent a year with the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL as an intern on the athletic training staff.
Smith is the primary CPR instructor for the university and serves on the IATA District 2 Board of Directors, as well as the Meridian School Board Health Profession Advisory Board.
Smith and his wife, Lindsay, reside in Boise with their son, Quinten. In his free time Smith enjoys weight lifting, running and competing in road races and obstacle courses.
