BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State University announced, Friday, the hiring of Tobruk Everman as Head Cheer, Dance and Mascot Coach. Everman will head the three groups as one program beginning June 3, 2013.
Everman, who currently owns TecCo, a cheer and dance education company in Boise, comes to Boise State with eight years of high school coaching experience in the Treasure Valley. From 2003-2008 she was the head coach of the Eagle High School cheer team, before moving to Rocky Mountain High School for the 2008-2011 seasons. She moved out of high school coaching to start up her company in 2011 and has been overseeing all aspects of the business.
She led her high school teams to four Idaho 5A State Cheerleading Championships, while also guiding her teams to three United Spirit Association national competitions. Additionally, she was named the Idaho Coaches of Dance and Cheer Cheerleading Coach of the Year in 2006.
Mirroring her high school coaching career, Everman has worked as a health educator at Eagle High School (2003-2008) and Rocky Mountain High School (2008-present).
As a student-athlete, Everman attended Oregon State University where she was a member of the Beavers' cheerleading team. As a youngster she was a member of the Eagle High School and Meridian Middle School cheer teams and Idaho Cheer University All-Star team, while also earning awards as, a Universal Cheer Association All-Star and a National Cheerleaders Association All-American.
An Oregon State University Dean's List member, Everman holds a bachelor's degree in health promotion and education as well as a master's in health education from OSU. She also holds and educational specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of Idaho.
