2017-18: CROSS COUNTRY- Followed up her breakout freshman season as a consistent presence for the Broncos as a sophomore . . . No. 3 runner for the team at the NCAA Championships, finishing 77th in her first NCAA cross country experience (Nov. 18) . . . Three spots shy of All-Region honors at the West Region Championships, running 20:21.8 for a 28th-place finish (Nov. 11) . . . Finished 25th at the Mountain West Championship (Oct. 27) . . . No. 3 runner at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational (Oct. 13) and Greater Louisville Classic (Sept. 30), finishing 56th and 18th, respectively . . . INDOOR- Reached the NCAA Indoor National Championships for the first time in her career, qualifying in the 5,000m. Took 14th in the 5,000m in 16:23.66 for second-team All-American honors (March 9-10) . . . Was a scorer in both the 3,000m and 5,000m at the conference championships. Took fourth in the 3,000m in 9:35.07, while finishing with runner-up honors in the 5,000m (Feb. 22-24) . . .  Posted a new personal best and the second best time in the 5,000m in school history by running it in 15:42.60 and placing sixth at the Husky Classic. Her time is the fastest indoor 5,000m ever run by an Australian woman (Feb. 9-10) . . . Took fourth in the 3,000m, top NCAA athlete, at the UW Invitational, running 9:12.28 (Jan. 26-27) . . . Set a new personal best of 4:56.39 in the mile at the Ed Jacoby Invitational (Jan. 12-13) to win that event. Also ran the 1,600m leg of the Boise State ‘White’ DMR that weekend.

2016-17: CROSS COUNTRY - Enjoyed a sensational freshman season…was named the Mountain West Women’s Freshman of the Year, along with also being named second-team All-Mountain West…started off her collegiate career with a runner-up finish at the Sagebrush Invitational (5K), clocking a time of 17:38.15…was the Broncos’ No. 4 finisher at the Roy Griak Invitational, running a 22:36.6 for 38th…earned a top-100 finish at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, clocking a 21:21.8 for 95th place…her conference accolades came after she took 12th thanks to a 20:56.4 on the 6-kilometer course at the conference championships…was 43rd at the NCAA West Regional, crossing the line in 20:35.1 as the Broncos’ No. 3 finisher...INDOOR – Was one of the top-two performers on the women’s team in the indoor season…won the 3,000m title at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships, clocking a 9:24.75 – the fastest 3k time at the conference championship in the league’s history…also helped the DMR team win the conference title with a 11:19.39…was just shy of qualifying to nationals in the 3,000m…her 9:09.01 at the Husky Classic in the 3,000m makes her the second-fastest Bronco in school history in the event…logged another exceptional 3k performance two weeks earlier at the UW Invitational, clocking a 9:21.76 for 10th place…kicked off the year at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and posted a 4:58.02 in the mile to win the event…OUTDOOR – Put together a phenomenal outdoor season that culminated in an All-America honorable mention honor in the 5,000m (16:06.08) after taking 17th place at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships…qualified ahead to nationals after earning the last 5k spot in the west region thanks to a 16:41.62 for 12th place at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships…took fifth in the 5,000m at the conference championships with a 16:43.45 and posted a 37:21.72 in the 10k to place ninth…logged some solid speed work at the Bryan Clay Invitational, posting a 4:27.08 in the 1,500m…opened the year with her eventual qualifying time in the 5k at the Stanford Invitational, crossing the line in 15:57.36.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Clare O'Brien will enter her collegiate career with having recently won the Queensland U20/Open 4K and 8K Cross Country Championships earlier this year. She ran a 13:54 on her way to winning the 4K and a 28:15 to secure the 8K title.  O'Brien just competed in the Gold Coast Southern Cross University 10K run and finished in fifth (34:32). She also won the Bridge to Brisbane title in 2014. Her personal-best 3,000m time is 9:34.90 and her best 1,500m time is 4:33.54.
