EUGENE, Ore. - Boise State wrapped up competition at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday evening with Jasmyn Jewett and the women’s 4x100m relay team both claiming first-place finishes. Jewett earned her victory in the triple jump after she bounded 40-6.75 (12.36m), just short of the 40-9.50 (12.43m) that she recorded last week at the Sun Angel Classic.

The 4x100m relay team was comprised of Shannon Jacobs, Chelsey Washington, Brandi Williams and Kimberly Miller (48.21). The Oregon Relays was the first time during the outdoor season that Boise State competed in a 4x100m relay race.

The men’s 4x100m relay team finished in fourth place (42.70), and was made up of entirely freshmen. Ian Keys, Alexandru Terpezan, Dylan Warrington and Dominique Drayden provided a glimmer of things to come for the 4x100m relay team.

Shannon Jacobs improved on her successful day by claiming fifth place in the 100m. Jacobs’ 11.98 was a career-best mark for the senior from Gilbert, Ariz.

Justin Malnes led the Broncos in the 110m hurdles with a fourth-place finish (14.66). Malnes cut .33 seconds off his time from last weekend at the Sun Angel Classic.

The Broncos’ best event of the day may have been the triple jump with two top-five finishers on the women’s side and a second-place finish for the men. Behind Jewett’s first-place mark, Kimberly Miller recorded a 38-3.25 (11.66m), good for fifth place. Dominique Drayden snagged the second-place finish with a 47-5 (14.45m), giving Drayden his second top-five finish of the day.

Jordan Ward cleared 5-5 (1.65m) on her way to third place in the high jump.

Boise State will travel to Provo, Utah next weekend to compete in the BYU Robison Invitational, April 25-26.
