PROVO, Utah – Rain shortened the final day of the BYU Robison Invitational Saturday afternoon, but the Broncos still managed to win three events for the second-consecutive day.
Jasmyn Jewett won the triple jump after she bounded her way to a 40-7.50 (12.38m). Jewett improved on her 40-6.75 (12.36m) that she recorded last weekend on her way to a first-place finish in the Oregon Relays.
The 4x100m relay team of Shannon Jacobs, Chelsey Washington, Brandi Williams and Kimberly Miller took first place when they ran a 47.14. Ian Keys, Fernando Martinez, Dominique Drayden and Alexandru Terpezan recorded a third-place finish (42.68) on the men’s side.
Justin Malnes finished second in the 110m hurdles (14.96) and Danny Verdieck took fourth (16.08). In the women’s 100m hurdles Allison Jeffries crossed the line at 15.65 and took sixth place. Jordan Ward took fifth in the javelin (97-1 / 29.59m).
The remainder of the events were cancelled due to heavy rain. Boise State will return home next weekend and host their first and only outdoor meet of the season, the Idaho-Utah Border Clash. The meet will take place at the Jacoby Track at Dona Larsen Park and it will tentatively begin at 3:30 p.m. (MT) on Friday, May 2. More information on the meet can be found HERE.
