BOISE, Idaho - Boise State junior Daveon Colins was named Mountain West Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for meets held April 9-15. It is the first career weekly honor for Collins, fifth outdoor honor for Boise State and seventh honor during the 2012-13 season.
Collins, from North Las Vegas, Nev., won the 100-meter dash at both the Utah Spring Classic (April 12) and the Weber State Wildcat Invitational (April 13). His time of 10.48-seconds at the Utah Spring Classic is a new personal best and is leading mark in the MW. In wind-aided conditions at the Wildcat Invite, Collins finished in 10.54-seconds. He was also a member of the Broncos' 4x100-meter relay team that placed second at the Wildcat Invite with a time of 41.69-seconds, a mark that is the fourth-best in the MW this season.
Colorado State sophomore Kiah Hicks was named the MW Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week after winning shot put and discus titles at the CU Invitational (April 13).
