Crucial No. 3 scorer for Boise State at the West Region Championships, running 30:16.6 for the first 10k of his career (Nov. 10) . . . No. 2 runner for Boise State at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in 83rd (Oct. 13) . . . PREP: The 2016 Men’s Cross Country Oregon Sports Award recipient, Ahmed Muhumed, compiled quite the cross country resume while competing at West Salem HS. The highlights of his cross country prep accomplishments came in the form of back-to-back titles at the Oregon 6A Cross Country State Championships. He also took 13th at the Nike Northwest Regional and finished eighth at the Nike Oregon-Washington Border Clash. Muhumed’s best season on the track came in 2016 when he took third in both the 1,500m and 3,000m at the state championships, running career-best times (3:52.44 and 8:25.87) on both occasions. 1,500m – 3:52.44 | 3,000m – 8:25.87
