Chris Cobbina is in his second season as Director of Basketball Operations at Boise State University.
His primary responsibilities include organizing team travel, directing summer camps, compiling scouting video for coaches and opponents, coordinating film exchange and arranging community service opportunities.
He joined the Broncos from St. Mary's Ryken High School in Leonardtown, Md., where he served as associate head coach for the 2010-11 season.
Prior to working with St. Mary's Ryken, Cobbina was a graduate assistant at Ohio University from 2008-10. While with the Bobcats, Cobbina handled team travel, organized team camps and community service activities, coordinated film exchange and served as the team's equipment liaison. Ohio played in the NCAA Tournament in 2010, defeating Georgetown in the First Round before falling to Tennessee.
Cobbina played collegiate basketball for Ohio Valley University in Vienna, W.V., from 2002-06. He was a three-time member of the All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team, and served as team captain as both a junior and senior.
A two-time Dean's List member at Ohio Valley, Cobbina graduated with a degree in secondary social studies with a certification in special education in 2006. He earned his master's degree in recreation and sports sciences-coaching education from Ohio in 2010.
Cobbina and the former Susan Phillips have been married since Aug. 14, 2009, and had their first child March 19, 2012, a son named CJ.
