BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's basketball head coach Leon Rice announced the signing of Dezmyn Trent to a National Letter of Intent, Wednesday.
Trent, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard from Tacoma, Wash. (Foss High School), will enroll at Boise State in fall 2013.
"We love guys that can score the basketball and Dezmyn is certainly adept at scoring in a variety of ways," Rice said. "He can play multiple spots on the floor, and he's got a toughness and competitiveness about him that will fit in with what we have been building at Boise State."
A three-year starter at Foss, Trent was named to the Washington 3A All-State Team by the Tacoma News Tribune, the Seattle Times and the Associated Press following his senior season in 2012-13. He averaged 26.9 points per game on the season, setting the school single-season record. Included were eight games with more than 30 points and four with more than 40.
His senior campaign also earned him TNT All-Area Player of the Year and Narrows League 3A Most Valuable Player honors.
Trent shared league MVP honors as a junior in 2011-12, and was also named first-team all-area, after averaging 18.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. As a sophomore, Trent averaged 16 points per game en route to first-team all-league honors.
