Full Watch List

ATLANTA
– Boise State senior Chandler Hutchison was one of 50 players named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch List, the organization announced Thursday. Now celebrating its 50th year, the Naismith Trophy is presented annually by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to college basketball's most outstanding player. A midseason list of 30 players will be released on Feb. 14, and the winner will be announced April 1.

Hutchison was the lone candidate from the Mountain West, one of 12 players not from a Power Five conference and one of 21 seniors named to the prestigious list.

Anthony Drmic was the last Bronco recognized on a national preseason watch list, as he was named to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award Watch List prior to the 2015-16 season.

The 6-foot-7-inch guard was named the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year last month by 24 media members who cover the league. Last season he was voted All-Mountain West First Team, USBWA All-District VIII and NABC All-District 17 First Team after averaging 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds a game.

The Mission Viejo, Calif., native recorded six games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in 2016-17. The last time a Bronco had more than three 20-point, 10-rebound games in a season was 2007-08, when Reggie Larry recorded nine. Hutchison is the second Bronco in the past 30 seasons to record six 20-and-10 games. He was the only player in the Mountain West with more than three last season.

He also became the first Bronco in program history to record 500 points, 250 rebounds and 75 assists in the same season.

Hutchison led the Broncos with 25 points in their lone exhibition game of the season last Thursday. Boise State will begin the regular season tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 10) at Taco Bell Arena against Eastern Oregon at 8 p.m. (MT).
