Bronco Football Schedule Update
Nov. 30, 2017

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State football team has finalized its schedules for the 2019-21 seasons, closing out its nonconference scheduling for the next six seasons, and signed home-and-home agreements with Washington State (2026-27), Houston (2021 and 2024), East Carolina (2026 and 2028) and Georgia Southern (2020 and 2024), Director of Athletics Curt Apsey announced Thursday.

“As we set out to fill our future schedules, our primary goal was to find balance that provides the best opportunity for our program to be successful,” Apsey said. “We wanted to find home games that would excite our fanbase, and allow our team to be in the national conversation each season.”

The Broncos had one open date each from 2019-21.

In 2019, Boise State closed out a nonconference slate that already included road games at Florida State and BYU, and a home game with Marshall, with a match-up against Portland State at Albertsons Stadium.

For the 2020 season, the Broncos will play seven home games with the addition of Georgia Southern to the schedule. Boise State had previously announced nonconference home games with Florida State and BYU, and a road game against Marshall. In 2020, Boise State will play three non-conference home games and also host Colorado State, Utah State, UNLV and San Jose State in Mountain West play.

A road game with Houston will kick off the 2021 campaign, joining nonconference match-ups at Albertsons Stadium against UTEP and Oklahoma State, and a road tilt at BYU.

The 2022 and 2023 nonconference schedules had already been finalized, including home-and-homes with BYU, Michigan State and Oregon State.

The Broncos will open the 2024 campaign with a trip to Statesboro, Ga., to square off against Georgia Southern before hosting both Houston and a previously-announced game against Cincinnati. Boise State had also previously announced a road game against Rice for 2024, though the game has been moved to 2027, leaving the Broncos an open date left to schedule.

Boise State’s return trip to Cincinnati is currently the only nonconference game scheduled for 2025, leaving three open dates.

The home-and-home series’ with East Carolina and Washington State are scheduled to begin in 2026. Boise State will have the Pirates at home, and travel to Pullman, Wash., for the match-up with the Cougars.

Wazzu will make its return trip to Boise in 2027, and the Broncos will travel to Greenville, N.C., for the second game of the home-and-home with the Pirates in 2028.
