PALM DESERT, Calif. – Jun Ho Won ended the first day of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in a tie for ninth, Friday at the Classic Club.

The freshman shot 69 (-3) – the third lowest round of his career. Won made six birdies, tied for fourth most in the 135-individual field, and is only a stroke back of the top three.

As a team, Boise State shot 294 (+6) to finish the day in 12th, but only two strokes back of the top seven in a highly competitive field.

Sophomores Brian Humphreys and Mason Schulze both shot 2-over (74) and are in a tie for 52nd. Donny Hopoi shot 77 (+5), while Connor Johnstone shot 81 (+9) to round out the scoring for Boise State.

The second round will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. (MT) with tee times being played off the first and 10th holes.
