Nov. 15, 2017

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State men's golf team signed one of the top prep golfers in the state of Arizona, head coach Dan Potter announced.

"I am excited to welcome Cameron to our program," Potter said. "He has high goals for himself and a good grasp of how to accomplish them. He immediately recognized the opportunity he will have at Boise State to both mature as a player and grow as a person. Cameron is a fighter, he has found a way to compete at every level of competition he's faced, and I look forward to watching him do the same as a Bronco."

Barzekoff finished tied for sixth at the AIA Division 1 State Championship this past spring as a senior, shooting rounds of 71-73. He averaged a score of 68.8 in 18-hole rounds as a senior for Red Mountain HS, also winning the 2017 Mesa City Championships with rounds of 68-64.

Competing on the JGAA circuit this past year, he has yet to finish outside of the top 20. Barzekoff finished in the top 20 at the prestigious AJGA PING Heather Farr Classic, AJGA Azahara Munoz Championship, and the 45th Boys Junior Americas Cup.

He was victorious at the BMO Invitational - Jr. Masters (Feb. 18-19), shooting rounds of 71-67 to finish five strokes ahead of second place.

He opened 2017 with a victory at the New Year's Classic in Mesa, Ariz. (Jan. 21-22).
