Broncos Fall at Gopher Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Boise State’s men’s tennis team went a combined 1-3 on the last day of the Gopher Invitational at Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday. The pair of Stefan Lalovic and Pedro Platzeck went 1-2 against Utah’s duo of Randy Cory and Joe Wooley in the final round of the Gold Draw.

Cory and Wooley edged the Broncos 6-4 in the doubles match, before Lalovic and Platzeck split the two singles contests. Platzeck defeated Cory in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, while Lalovic came up short against Wooley 6-4, 6-2. Platzeck and Lalovic went a combined 2-2 in the pairs tournament.

Meanwhile, Jack Heslin fell in his lone singles match of the day as Utah’s Slava Shainyan handed him a 7-5, 6-0 defeat.   

The Gopher Invitational concludes Boise State’s fall season as the Broncos now turn their attention to preparation for the spring opener against Northwestern at home on January 21.
