Men's Tennis Hosts Nevada for Senior Day

BOISE, Idaho - In its regular-season finale, the No. 44 Boise State men's tennis team will host Nevada for Senior Day, Friday at 1 p.m. Before the match the Broncos will honor seniors Filipp Pogostkin, Scott Sears and Freddy Walsh who will compete in their final match at the Appleton Tennis Center. Parking will be available on the fourth and fifth floors of the Lincoln Garage.

In the Rankings - The Broncos moved up two spots to No. 44 in the latest ITA Rankings after winning a pair of matches on the road last week.
Junior Andy Bettles is currently ranked the 30th-best singles player in the nation after a 7-3 fall season and a 20-5 record so far this spring. Bettles has played all 25 matches this spring at the No. 1 spot, 13 of which have been against ranked opponents.
Scouting Nevada - The Wolf Pack is 9-10 this season and earned its first conference win last week against Air Force. Victor Ouvrard leads the team with 17 wins this season, eight coming during the spring with six of those at the top spot. The strength of the Nevada lineup has been at the back end, as the team has a .684 winning mark at Nos. 5 and 6. Each of the top three spots are below .500. Doubles has been a mix-and-match affair, fielding 13 different combinations over the dual season. The team of Poustie/Sunago has seen the most success, boasting an 8-3 record.
Coming in Hot -Thomas Tenreiro have blowing by the competition over the past month. Tenreiro's streak is up to 14 matches, winning 13 of those in straight sets. The streak is the longest of any Boise State student-athlete this season.
Nathan Sereke extended his win streak to double digits over the weekend and is now at 10 in-a-row. The Swede experienced a turnaround March 16, when the streak began, before which he held a 2-7 record to start the spring.
On Top of the Mountain - Boise State has taken the Mountain West by storm since entering in 2011. The Broncos are 11-1 in conference matches overall after a 7-0 debut season on their way to a Mountain West Championship.
Finishing Strong - The Broncos have won 10 of their last 11 regular-season finales with the only loss coming in 2011 against Arizona.
Player of the Week - A Boise State student-athlete has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week five times this season, the most of any team in the conference
Junior Andy Bettles has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week three times this season, first on Feb. 13, again March 13, and most recently April 17. He is tied with Ace Matias of UNLV for the most player of the week honors this season. Bettles has now received the award four times in his career.
Junior Nathan Sereke was named Mountain West Player of the Week, March 27 after going 5-1 and earning three singles wins. Sereke marks the third consecutive Bronco to be named Player of the Week, marking the fourth honor for Boise State this season which is tied for first with San Diego State among conference schools.
Sophomore Garrett Patton was named Mountain West Player of the Week, March 20, after going 4-0 at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic. Patton won two singles matches and two doubles matches with partner Scott Sears.
End-of-Season Banquet - Come celebrate the Boise State men's and women's tennis teams at the season's end banquet, May 5 at 5 p.m. The event will take place in the Stueckle Sky Center with free parking in the West Stadium Lot.
