The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the final 2014 attendance standings on May 8 and among those ranked were both Bronco tennis programs. The Boise State women finished the year third in total attendance, while the men came in at fourth.
Boise State athletics thanks Bronco Nation for their support all season long for both the men's and women's tennis programs making their experience truly remarkable and one to remember. Boise is home to the best tennis fans in the country.
The final rankings released this week listed the attendance figures for the month of April and the overall season race. Among the leaders on the women's side were the Boise State Broncos who came in ninth for the month of April in total attendance with 430 fans at there two matches which ranked them sixth in average at 215 per match.
On the year Boise State's women placed an impressive third place in total attendance with 2,319, behind only Georgia (4,747) and Baylor (2,533). The Broncos finished ahead of nationally prominent programs like Michigan (2,156) in fourth, Tennessee (1,968) in fifth, Alabama (1,931), Florida (1,797), Duke (1,529), Texas A&M (1,505) and Rice (1,345) who rounds out the top 10 programs. The women finished the season with a solid 10-4 home record playing at both the Boas Tennis Center (indoor) and the Appleton Tennis Center (outdoor).
The 25th-ranked Boise State men's team came in ranked second for total attendance in April with 1,976 spectators for seven home matches, which placed them eighth in average attendance at 282 per match.
On the year the Broncos finished an impressive fourth in total attendance playing in front of 4,226 supporters. That gave them an average attendance of 282 per match which ranked them sixth nationally. The Broncos finished the season on a 13-match home win streak and a 14-1 overall record in the city of Boise.
In total attendance the Boise State men finished behind TCU (7,615), Georgia (4,574) and Mississippi (4,345). They finished ahead of several national powers in the top 10 such as Tennessee (3,959), Ohio State (3,632), Virginia (3,578), Michigan (3,482), Texas A&M (3,276) and Baylor (3,213).
