WHAT IS HAPPENING

  • Boise State men's tennis will be back in action this weekend when the Broncos send sophomores Ryland McDermott and Harvey Shackleton to the Bulldog Classic at Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash.

  • The tournament will be played at the Stevens Center on the campus of Gonzaga. 

  • Both McDermott and Shackleton will compete in singles, as well as teaming up to play doubles. 

THE FIELD

  • The field features representatives from five schools from the Pacific Northwest including: Boise State, Gonzaga, Portland, Portland State and Seattle. 

REPRESENTING BOISE STATE

  • The will be the third tournament this fall for Ryland McDermott (Las Vegas, Nev.) who is coming off a solid ITA Mountain Regional performance last week in Provo, Utah, where he went 2-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles reaching the doubles main draw round of 16 with Matteo Tinelli. This fall McDermott is 4-3 in singles and 3-2 in doubles. 

  • The Bulldog Classic will be the third competition this fall for Harvey Shackleton (Hertfordshire, England) who earned a split in doubles last week at the ITA regional while playing with Jack Heslin as they advanced to the round of 32 before falling in a tiebreaker. So far this year the sophomore is 1-3 in singles play and 2-3 in doubles.

  • They have not played together as a doubles team this fall.
