DES MOINES, Iowa - Boise State senior Jason Chamberlain fell in 3-2 decision to No. 1 Jordan Oliver of Oklahoma State in the 149-pound final of the 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships, Saturday.
It was an Oliver takedown with 10 seconds left in the third period which served as the only offensive points scored in the bout, and clinched the bout.
The first period ended at 0-0 as each wrestler was getting a feel for their opponent. Oliver did get one of Chamberlain's legs and pulled it to his chest. It looked like the Bronco senior was in trouble but he was able to scramble out and keep Oliver off the scoreboard.
Each scored by escaping in their respective starts on bottom, first Oliver and then Chamberlain in the third period.
Chamberlain was awarded an escape as time expired to make the final score 3-2.
Chamberlain ends his collegiate career as a two-time All-American, one of eight in Boise State history to finish in the top eight twice.
Boise State finished 19th as a team with 29 points, for the seventh top-25 finish in school history.
