Bronco Rewind: Utah State vs Boise State at Taco Bell Arena (Feb. 4)

The Boise State women's basketball team defeated Utah State 94-55 Wednesday at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos tied a school record with 15 3-pointers on way to another conference win to stay in the hunt for the top spot.

Boise State defeated Air Force 81 to 54 Saturday at Taco Bell Arena. Brooke Pahukoa led the team with 17 points while Miqelle Askew put up 12 points herself and pulled down five rebounds.

Boise State defeated New Mexico 86-65 Saturday at Taco Bell Arena. Brooke Pahukoa led the team with 20 points, while Shalen Shaw had the best performance of her career so far scoring 14 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

  • Was not be eligible to play for the Broncos until Cal State Fullerton game (Dec. 29) per NCAA transfer rules ... played in 22 games.
  • During conference competition was ranked 12th in league for scoring (13.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg), tied for second in steals (2.0 spg) and 12th in free throw percentage (.764).
  • Recorded two double-doubles ... 15 double-digit scoring games and three in rebounding ... 15 games with seven or more rebounds ... led team in scoring eight times, rebounding in nine games and in assists five times.
  • First action for Boise State was Cal State Fullerton game recording 12 points, five rebounds and one steal ... first start was the league opener at Fresno State (Jan. 4) tallying 22 points, on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor to go with two free throws, four boards, two assists and career-high four steals.
  • Double-doubles against Nevada (Jan. 15) with 18 points and 10 rebounds, as well as against Wyoming (March 11) in MW Tournament quarterfinal game at Las Vegas finishing with 17 points and career-high 15 rebounds.
  • Scored a career-high 33 points at New Mexico (Feb. 12) on 9-of-20 shooting from the floor, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line ... recorded a team-high 28 points in Boise State's WBI second round loss at Stephen F. Austin making 11-of-20 shots from the floor, 5-of-9 from the arc and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe.
  • Career-high six assists on three occasions at Utah State (Jan. 18), at San Diego State (Feb. 5) and at Nevada (March 4) ... career-high three blocks against Wyoming in MW quarterfinal game (March 11).

2012-13 ● REDSHIRT (at Oregon)

  • Started the season as a redshirt while recovering from an injury before deciding to transfer to Boise State during the winter break.

2011-12 ● SOPHOMORE HIGHLIGHTS (at Oregon)

  • HONORS: 2012 Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection ... a recipient of the team's Scholar Athlete Award.
  • STATISTICS (Notable Rankings): Recorded 187 points, 108 rebounds, 13 assists, five blocks and 25 steals ... averaged 6.7 points (5th on team) and 3.9 rebounds (5th on team) ... shot 36 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from the 3-point arc and 68 percent from foul line.
  • Appeared in 28 games and made four starts ... reached double figure points on eight occasions ... led the Ducks in scoring three times and in rebounding on three occasions.
  • Scored a Oregon career-high 18 points and added five steals at Nevada (Dec. 14) ... shared the team lead with a season-high nine rebounds versus Cal State Northridge (Dec. 19) ... scored a team-leading 14 points against Saint Mary's (Dec. 21) ... scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Washington State (Dec. 29) ... hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 16 seconds left on the clock versus Washington, scoring 13 points and sinking a season-best three buckets from long distance in 88-86 win over the Huskies (Dec. 31) ... led Ducks with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting while adding seven rebounds at No. 4 Stanford (Jan. 5).

2010-11 ● FRESHMAN HIGHLIGHTS (at Oregon)

  • STATISTICS (Notable Rankings): Tallied 185 points, 107 boards, 29 assists, seven blocks and 32 steals ... averaged 6.6 points (6th on team), 3.8 rebounds (4th on team), 1.0 assists 1.1 steals in 18.8 minutes per game.
  • Played in 28 contests starting the final nine games of the year in which she averaged 7.3 points and 3.7 boards per contest during that stretch.
  • Recorded the first double-double of career scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in an 88-76 win at Long Beach State (Nov. 19) ... scored a season-high 16 points in UO's 110-70 season-opening victory over Western Oregon ... scored 12 points and added nine rebounds, as well as a career-high six steals against Sacramento State (Nov. 28) ... scored 13 points off the bench and added six rebounds, three assists and two steals at Washington (Feb. 3) ... scored 15 points and drained a career-high four 3-pointers versus USC (Feb. 12).


  • A 2010 graduate of Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, Calif ... played four seasons for head coach Creighton Lane.
  • STATISTICS: During senior season, averaged 18.4 points per game ... as a junior, averaged 13.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
  • BASKETBALL HONORS: Senior year was named Co-MVP of the DeAnza League ... three-time All-DeAnza League First Team selection ... as a sophomore, was named the San Jose Mercury News Player of the Year and DeAnza League MVP after leading the Chargers to the Division II Central Coast Section championship with a win over Archbishop Mitty ... as a freshman, was named co-MVP of the DeAnza League after guiding Wilcox to a share of the DeAnza League championship
  • Played AAU ball for both Just Believe Sports (Sacramento) under head coach Sean Chambers and Metro (San Jose) under head coach Wade Nakamura ... on JBS Purple winning the Adidas EA Sports Showcase in Las Vegas and a second tournament in Los Angeles.
