Lenhardt closes career as one of the top Broncos ever.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -  Boise State women's basketball closed the season Thursday night with a 72-55 loss to Fresno State in the Reese's Mountain West Basketball Championship quarterfinals at Las Vegas, Nev. Boise State struggled early to find itself in a hole during the first half that the Broncos could not dig themselves out from in the loss to the Bulldogs. Senior post Lauren Lenhardt closed her career with a team-high 13 points as the Broncos finish the season 11-19 overall.

Lauren Lenhardt finished her career with a strong second half recording 11 of her points to go with five rebounds, a career-high seven blocks, second-most in a game all-time, and two steals. On the night she had 13 points, seven boards, seven blocks and three steals, all team highs. The senior from Eagle, Idaho, finishes her career ranked in numerous top-25 career and season rankings, most notable are sixth in career points with 1,370, 10th in career rebounds with 632 and third in career blocks with 114, one short of tying for second.

Brandi Henton and Erica Martinez each added 11 points to back-up Lenhardt. Henton matched Lenhardt's team-high of seven rebounds, while Martinez went three-of-six from the 3-point arc.

After going one-for-14 to open the game, Boise State turned it around and actually shot better than the Bulldogs. The Broncos finished the night shooting 38.5 percent (20-52) from the floor, 33.3 percent (5-15) from the arc and 83.3 percent (10-12) from the free-throw line. Fresno State countered at 36.4 percent (28-77) from the floor, 23.1 percent (6-26) from the arc and 66.7 percent (10-15) from the charity stripe.

Ki-Ki Moore led four Bulldogs in double figure points with 17, followed by Rosie Moult with 15, Alex Sheedy with 13 and Bree Farley with 10.

The game opened with Fresno State taking control early with a 15-2 run in the first seven minutes of the game to set the tempo. Boise State tried to rally late in the half hitting seven of its last 11 shots to cut a 26 point deficit to 18 points, 41-23, at the break. Erica Martinez hit four of those seven shots for 11 of the 18 Bronco points down the stretch.

Boise State came out of the intermission with some fire and at one point rolled off a 11-2 run to close to within 14 points, 48-34, with 15:42 to play. Lenhardt (18) and Henton (7) led the Broncos in the second period combining for 25 points. Unfortunately, the deficit was to big from the fist 20 minutes of play for the Broncos to over come as they fell to the Bulldogs in their season finale.
