Hodgins Named MW Player Of The Week
March 4, 2018

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State guard Braydey Hodgins claimed the final Mountain West Player of the Week honor of the 2017-18 season Sunday thanks in part to a career night in the Broncos' conference title-clinching victory Friday at Wyoming.

Hodgins scored a career-high 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting, including three fourth-quarter 3 pointers, and matched her personal best with seven rebounds in the 67-63 come-from-behind win in Laramie. The sophomore from Pasco, Wash., scored 16 points in the second half of the contest, with nine coming in the fourth quarter.

The win earned the Broncos (20-9, 14-4 MW) a share of the Mountain West regular-season title, the program's first since joining the conference in 2011-12, as well as the No. 1 seed at this week's Mountain West Tournament. Boise State will open action in Las Vegas Tuesday (March 6) at 1 p.m. MT (Noon PT) against the winner of Monday's first-round contest between No. 8 Air Force and No. 9 Utah State.

Friday, with Boise State trailing Wyoming, 58-50 with 6:49 to play, Hodgins heated up, hitting a trio of treys and scoring nine of Boise State's 11 points over a span of just 2:29 to even it up at 61-61. Hodgins' flurry stunned the Laramie crowd, as well as the Cowgirls, who went just 2-for-11 from the field and scored only five points over the final 6:49.

Hodgins also scored 10 points with seven rebounds and four assists in Tuesday's 64-53 win over San Diego. For the week, Hodgins averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.00 assists while going 5-for-13 from 3-point range and 13-for-27 overall from the field.

Hodgins' honor is also a conference-best fifth player of the week for the Boise State women this season. Riley Lupfer has thrice earned the award (Jan. 2, Jan. 15, Feb. 19), with Marta Hermida claiming the honor on Feb. 12. Boise State players captured three of the final four conference player of the week awards.
