ST. GEORGE, Utah - Hayley Young tallied a team-best 77 (+5) during the final round of the BYU at Entrada Classic at St. George, Utah, to lead the Boise State women's golf team to an eighth-place finish out of 15 teams. Young and freshman Sammie Pless led the Broncos overall with final tournament scores of 234 (+18) two strokes out of the top 25.
Boise State as a team carded a final round of 316 (+28) Tuesday afternoon to finish the tournament in eighth place overall with a final tally of 939 (+75). The 44th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers held onto to their lead after Monday's two rounds to claim the team championship with a final three-round score of 888 (+24).
Following close behind Young (81-76-77 -- 234, +18) and Pless (80-74-80 -- 234, +18) individually were Lori Harper who shot a total of 235 (77-78-80, +19) and Samantha Martin one stroke back at 236 (80-77-79, +20). Rounding out the Boise State team was McKenzie Ford who finished at 247 (87-80-80, +31).
Next up for the Broncos is the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Chandler, Ariz., April 8-10.
