The No. 14 Broncos return to Taco Bell Arena for the final time this season as they host Sacramento State on Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m. MT. The meet is the program's senior meet, as four Broncos, Mary Frances Bir, Sandra Collantes, Ann Stockwell and Abby Webb will be competing at Taco Bell Arena for the final time this season.



The Broncos are 19-7 all-time against Sacramento State and have won the last 12 meetings between the two programs. The last meeting came on on March 23, 2013.

The Broncos are coming off their first loss of the season as they fell in a dual meet at then-No. 18 BYU by half a tenth of a point, 196.225 to 196.175. The Broncos were led by Shani Remme who won the all-around with a score of 49.450 and the meet beam crown as she tied her career-high mark of 9.925 on the event. Freshman Gabby Bouza looked strong in the meet, scoring a 9.825 on her first official collegiate bars routine. Sandra Collantes continued to impress on floor exercise, leading the Broncos on the event with a score of 9.900. That is the third time this season she has scored a 9.900 on the event.

For the seventh-straight week a Bronco took home MRGC Gymnast of the Week honors, this time junior Shani Remme took home the honor for the sixth time this season as she won the all-around competition at BYU with a score of 49.450. Remme also earned MRGC Beam Specialist for the fourth time this season as she took home the meet crown in the event and tied her career-high mark on the event with a score of 9.925.

With the first RQS of the season out, the Broncos rank No. 14 nationally with a score of 196.255. Individually, the Broncos are led by Shani Remme, who ranks 10th nationally in the all-around with an RQS of 39.420. She also ranks 19th on floor with an RQS of 9.885, 20th on beam with an RQS of 9.885, 26th on bars with an RQS of 9.865 and 102nd with an RQS of 9.795 on vault. Bir leads the Broncos with a score of 9.810, good for 86th nationally on vault, while Collantes ranks 46th on floor.

Seniors Sandra Collantes and Ann Stockwell have been tabbed as team captains for the 2017-18 season.

The Broncos return a wealth of experience from a 2017 squad that brought home the program's third-straight MRGC title. The 11 returners are headlined by 2017 MRGC Gymnast of the Year Shani Remme, who finished ninth individually in the first semifinal at the 2017 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, setting the highest all-around score at nationals in Boise State history (39.3625). In addition to Remme, the Broncos return six additional gymnasts that earned All-MRGC First Team honors in 2017, Sarah Means, Courtney McGregor, Mary Frances Bir, Sandra Collantes, Alex Esmerian and Abby Webb. Overall the Broncos return seven of eight all-conference honorees from last season.
For the 11th-straight season the Broncos are under the direction of co-head coaches Tina Bird and Neil Resnick, the 2017 MRGC Coaches of the Year and the 2017 NACGC/W West Region Co-Head Coaches of the Year.

The Broncos are coming off their third-straight MRGC title in 2017, and advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the 10th-straight season. Other record-breaking moments from 2017 include; first time recording four team scores over 197 in a single season, with the highest team score in school history (197.675).
