BOISE, Idaho - Six Boise State gymnasts have been named to the 2012-13 Western Athletic Conference All-Academic team, the conference announced, Thursday.
Seniors Erin Wippermann and Brittany Potvin-Green were joined by juniors Kelsey Black, Alessandra Cinfio and Amanda Otuafi, as well as sophomore Kelsey Morris in earning honors. Potvin-Green earned her third WAC All-Academic team honor, while Otuafi earned her second. Black, Cinfio, Morris and Wippermann each earned their first conference academic honors.
The Boise State gymnastics program competed as an affiliate of the WAC for the 2012-13 season. Sacramento State's gymnasts led the league in honors garnering nine. Boise State, Denver and Southern Utah each had six gymnasts honored, while San Jose State and Utah State had five apiece.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50-percent of the team's contests.
