2018 Schedule

BOISE, Idaho –
The 2018 Boise State gymnastics schedule features 10 regular season meets – four of which will be home at Taco Bell Arena – prior to the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships (March 24) in Cedar City, Utah. The Broncos will face three teams who qualified to the 2017 NCAA National Championships in 2018: Denver, Georgia and Washington.

Co-head coaches Tina Bird and Neil Resnick will return for their 11th season at the helm after being named the 2017 National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women West Region and MRGC Co-Head Coaches of the Year.

“We’re really excited for 2018,” Resnick said. “This season’s schedule will challenge us from start to finish.”

The Broncos are coming off a 2017 season where they posted a program record team score (197.625), earned a program-best No. 7 ranking in the weekly national rankings on two occasions, captured the 2017 MRGC team title and earned a No. 2 seed at an NCAA Regional for the first time in program history.

Boise State returns 11 gymnasts (seven of which were All-MRGC selections last season) to this year’s roster. 2017 MRGC Gymnast of the Year Shani Remme and 2016 Second-Team All-America (floor) honoree Sandra Collantes will lead the way for the Blue and Orange.

“We are looking forward to another record-breaking season,” Bird said. “Competing against top-12 powerhouses such as Georgia, Washington and Denver will help us reach our potential. There will be some heated competition within the MRGC, as well.”

The three-time defending MRGC Champions (2015, ’16 and ’17) will start the year at home with a dual meet against Southern Utah (Jan. 11). The Thunderbirds have routinely finished in the top 25 of the national rankings and been the Broncos’ toughest competition in the MRGC.

Jan. 19 features a home quadrangular meet with Denver, Illinois-Chicago and Seattle Pacific. The Pioneers qualified to the 2017 NCAA National Championships and ended the year ranked ninth.

Boise State will hit the road for three-straight weeks with MRGC dual meets at Southern Utah (Jan. 26) and Utah State (Feb. 2), followed by a matchup at San Jose State (Feb. 9).

Utah State will come to Boise on Feb. 16 for a dual meet and the Broncos will finish MRGC regular season competition on Feb. 23 at BYU in Provo, Utah.

Senior night will take place on March 2 as Boise State hosts Sacramento State.

Arguably the two most difficult meets of the year will occupy the middle of March as the Broncos will visit Seattle to take on Washington (March 9) and then Athens, Ga., to compete against Georgia (March 17). Both the Huskies and Bulldogs qualified to the 2017 NCAA National Championships and finished the season ranked eighth and 12th, respectively.

Southern Utah will host the 2018 MRGC Championships (March 24) in Cedar City, Utah. Purchase a Bronco Sports Pass now to attend all four home meets at Taco Bell Arena this season.
