McGregor Finishes Up at Worlds

MONTREAL – Boise State sophomore Courtney McGregor competed at the 2017 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Wednesday and took 50th in the women’s all-around qualifications with a 46.765. The event marks the second time that McGregor has represented New Zealand in a major international competition (along with the 2016 Summer Olympics) while also competing as a Bronco.

McGregor began the day on vault where she earned a 13.216. The Christchurch, New Zealand native earned a 13.233 on her first vault and followed it up with a 13.200 on her second. She took 25th in the event – her highest individual event finish.

She then moved to uneven bars in the second rotation and earned a 12.266 to claim 48th place on the apparatus.

The back half of the session saw McGregor go to balance beam where she recorded a 9.466, and then to floor where she tallied an 11.800.

McGregor will now rejoin the Broncos and begin preparations for the upcoming year. Boise State will open the 2018 season at Taco Bell Arena against Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference opponent Southern Utah on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.
