Gymnastics Earns Preseason-High Ranking of No. 13 in Coaches' Poll
Dec. 12, 2017

BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State gymnastics has been named the No. 13 team in the 2018 NACGC/W Preseason Poll, the highest preseason ranking in program history. The poll, which was released on Monday (Dec. 11), is based on votes from each of the NCAA Division I gymnastics head coaches from across the nation.

The Broncos will start the 2018 season where they left off in 2017, ranked No. 13 nationally. The program is coming off its third-straight MRGC championship and 10th-straight NCAA regional appearance.

The Broncos will take on four teams ranked in the preseason top-25, including visits to No. 15 Washington, No. 16 Georgia and a quad-meet that includes #8 Denver. The only other MRGC team ranked in the top 25 is Southern Utah.

The team returns MRGC Gymnast of the Year Shani Remme, who won the MRGC All-Around title and was the Balance Beam Co-Champion at the conference championships in 2017. She advanced to the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships as an individual, tying for ninth place in the first semifinal of the all-around with a score of 39.3625, the highest individual all-around score at nationals in Boise State history.

Defending national champion Oklahoma is the preseason favorite, while Florida and LSU flip-flop from their 2017 finish to come in two and three, respectively.

The Broncos open up the 2018 campaign on Thursday, Jan. 11 when they host Southern Utah at 7 p.m. MT.
