Wade Receives MW Honor
March 6, 2018

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State junior outfielder Kora Wade has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week for games played through March 4, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the first weekly honor Wade has garnered in her career.

Wade is coming off a career weekend at the Red Desert Classic, going 11-for-17 at the plate with seven runs, two doubles and four RBIs in five games.

It would be Wade’s base running that separated her from the rest of the conference, however. The Lake Elsinore, Calif. native stole seven bases on seven attempts on the weekend, including a career high of three in a 9-5 win over Montana (March 2). The three stolen bases in a single game is tied for second most in Boise State history.

The Broncos went 4-1 on the weekend to move to 9-7 on the season. Boise State won their final three games at the tournament, all in five innings for their longest winning streak of the season. This is the first time in program history the team has won three-straight games in five innings.

Boise State will return to action this weekend, with the Highlander Classic in Riverside, Calif. (March 8-10).
