COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Tara Glover was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for the week of April 7-13, the conference announced Tuesday. Glover ignited the Boise State offense in a series sweep of Nevada with four hits, four stolen bases and three runs scored. It is her first weekly honor of the year and fourth of her career.

Glover supplied the only offense in the opener Friday. She led off the fourth inning with a home run to dead center field, breaking up Karlyn Jones' perfect game. It proved to be the only run of the game as the Broncos won 1-0.

The senior stayed hot Saturday, getting a base hit in each of the first three innings. Glover singled in the first inning, stole second and stole third. The throw to third got away and Glover got up and ran home to score the game's first run. She hit an RBI double in the second inning before singling up the middle in the third and stealing second. It was her third three-hit game in a five-game stretch. The three stolen bases matched a career high.

Glover and her speed got the Broncos started again Sunday. She was hit by a pitch in the top of the first inning and quickly stole second. She moved to third on a bunt and scored on a ground ball to first base. Glover came to the plate again in the first inning and drew a walk as the Broncos scored six runs in the frame before cruising to the win.

Glover, who transferred to Boise State before her sophomore season in 2012, now has 201 hits in her Bronco career, the first player in Boise State history to crack the 200-hit plateau. She has 256 hits in her collegiate career, nine shy of the all-time Mountain West record.

With her run in the first game Glover broke the Boise State career record with 119 runs scored. She now has 121 as a Bronco and 165 in her collegiate career, No. 5 in Mountain West history. The center fielder's four steals on the weekend extended her Boise State career record to 71. In her collegiate career, Glover has 87 steals, No. 3 in Mountain West history and four shy of second place.

This is Boise State's second MW Player of the Week award of the season. Ashley Palmer earned the distinction after helping the Broncos to a series win against Fresno State during the first weekend of MW play. Glover was named MW Player of the Week three times in 2012.
