COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State redshirt junior Rebecca Patton was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week for games played April 15-21, the conference announced Tuesday. Patton started both of Boise State's wins against then-conference leader San Diego State April 20 and 21, at Dona Larsen Park in Boise, Idaho.
Patton was 1-0 with a 1.31 earned-run average in 10.2 innings. She allowed four runs (two earned) on just nine hits and one walk, leading the Broncos to their first series win of the season. She went the distance in the first game to pick up her 10th win of the year, limiting the Aztecs to one earned run (three total) on seven hits. She struck out three without issuing a walk in the seven innings of work.
In the series finale Patton retired 10 of the first 11 batters she faced, holding a no-hitter through three-and-one-third innings. She gave up one run on two hits in the fourth before exiting after 3.2 innings, with Boise State leading 3-1. The Broncos went on to win 5-3, with their second walk-off home run of the weekend and clinch the series win.
It is Patton's second MW Pitcher of the Week honor this season.
Boise State hosts MW co-Hitter of the Week Chelsea Biglow and Colorado State April 26-28, at Dona Larsen Park. The Rams are currently tied with the Aztecs for first place.
