COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State softball landed three student-athletes on the 2013 All-Mountain West Team, as the conference announced Tuesday. Senior Holly Bourke and juniors Devon Bridges and Tara Glover earned the recognition. Bridges and Glover repeated the honor from last season.
The 20-member team was determined by a vote of the seven head coaches in the Mountain West. It is the fourth-consecutive year at least three Broncos have earned all-conference recognition.
Bourke capped her Bronco career with her first all-conference honor. In Mountain West play she batted .355 with 22 hits and added seven walks for a .420 on-base percentage while reaching safely in all 18 conference games. Bourke slugged .581 against MW competition with five doubles and three home runs, those marks tied for third and fifth in the conference, respectively. She tied for the team lead with 14 runs scored (third in the conference) and drove in eight more. Bourke was one of three seniors named to the all-conference team and is the lone senior position player.
Bridges earned her third all-conference honor in as many seasons. She led the Broncos during conference play in batting average (.421), on-base percentage (.522), slugging percentage (.825), hits (24), RBI (16), home runs (six) and doubles (five). Bridges ranked in the top three in the Mountain West in all of those categories besides batting average, which she finished fourth. She had at least one base hit in 16 of the 18 conference games and was walked 11 times. She hit at least one home run against four of the six conference opponents.
Glover finished the 18-game conference schedule with 19 hits and a .275 batting average. She scored 11 times, hit two doubles, one home run and drove in nine. She was 9-for-9 on steal attempts in MW play, the second-most steals in the league and the most by any student-athlete without getting caught.
