2018 Schedule

BOISE, Idaho –
Looking to continue the upward momentum from last year’s postseason appearance, the Boise State softball team has scheduled stiff competition for the 2018 season, the team announced Wednesday.

The Broncos – who reached the Ogden Region finale of the NISC – will compete in five tournaments to begin the season. The tournament slate features six teams who finished 2017 in the top 100 of the nation in RPI, led by NCAA tournament participant – Tennessee.

“The high level of competition we played in our fall schedule will prepare our team for the super competitive season we will face in pre-season, and in an even more contested conference schedule,” head coach Cindy Ball said. “With high expectations from last season, we look to be very competitive this season.”

Boise State will open the season in Tempe, Ariz., at the Kajikawa Classic, Feb. 8-11. The Broncos will play six games in Arizona, with RPI top 100 opponents including Tennessee, Northwestern and Stanford.

A return trip to the Demarini Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 16-18, will be Boise State’s second test of the season. The Broncos will play five games, with opponents being UTEP, Iowa State, Buffalo, Long Beach State and Hawai’i.

A trip to Conway, Ark. for the Central Arkansas Tournament, Feb.23-25, will close out action in the month of February for Boise State.

March will begin with the Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah, March 2-4. The Broncos will face off against regional foes Montana, Utah Valley, Southern Utah and Weber State.

Boise State’s final tournament will be the Highlander Classic in Riverside, Calif., March 8-10.

A doubleheader at home against Utah Valley, March 14, will be the final test for Boise State before beginning the Mountain West season. The first game against the Wolverines is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Boise State will open Mountain West play in Logan, Utah against Utah State, March 16-18. The Broncos will return to the confines of Dona Larsen Park for back-to-back series against San Jose State and San Diego State, March 23-25 and March 29-31, respectively.

Boise State will step away from the conference schedule with a midweek doubleheader at Idaho State. First pitch in Pocatello, Idaho is set for 1:00 p.m., with the second game beginning immediately afterward. Boise State will host Idaho State, April 25th, at 2:00 p.m.

The Broncos will then host conference rival Fresno State, April 27-29, before travelling to Colorado State, May 4-6.

Boise State will close the regular season at home against New Mexico, May 10-12.
