Heaney Wins 200 Fly, Broncos Finish Second

Boise State women's swimming and diving finished second at the 2013 Mountain West Championships with 575 points. Rachel Heaney won the 200-yard butterfly to highlight the final day of competition.

Career Highlights: 2012 Canadian Olympic Trials participant...left as school record holder in 400 IM...three-career gold medals (four overall) at conference championships...finished career with 17 individual event wins...left as only Bronco to win multiple individual conference titles as a freshman (2010, WAC)...four NCAA B five in 400 IM at conference championships all four years...helped Boise State to three team conference championships...three-time academic all-conference.

Senior (2012-13): Scored in two events at 2013 Mountain West Championships, setting three season bests at meet...finished fifth in 400 IM...took ninth in 200 fly by winning B Final in final collegiate race...won 400 IM at Oregon State (Nov. 3)...set career best in 200 breast in season opener at Idaho (Oct. 6)...scored in six races during the dual-meet season.

Junior (2011-12): Won 2012 Mountain West Championship in 400 IM with a school record and NCAA 'B' cut...finished fifth in the 200 IM with a career best and took 11th in the 200 fly at the conference meet... finished the season ranked No. 83 in the NCAA in the 400 IM...won the 400 IM at Seattle (Nov. 19), setting a facility record at the Connolly Center...took second in the 400 IM and ninth in the 200 fly at the Missouri Invite (Dec. 1-3)...won the 200 IM against Colorado State (Jan. 28)...four individual wins on the year...Academic All-MW.

Sophomore (2010-11): Earned two medals and a third podium finish at the 2011 WAC Championships...took second in the 400 individual medley in school-record time, also garnering an NCAA 'B' cut...placed third in the 200 fly and sixth in the 200 IM...won the 400 individual medley at the Missouri Invitational (Dec. 4)...swept the IM races against North Texas and New Mexico State (Oct. 22 and 23)...picked up three wins in each the 200 and 400 individual medley...WAC All-Academic.

Freshman (2009-10): Captured a pair of WAC titles in the 400 IM and 200 fly, while also setting the school record in each event...also set the school record in the 200 IM with a fourth-place finish at the WAC Championships...won the 200 fly over both New Mexico (Nov. 6) and Seattle (Nov. 6)...Finished first in the 200 IM against Tulane (Jan. 7) and San Diego Jan. 9)...added 200 fly title against Toreros...took the 400 IM title in the Broncos' dual win over Idaho (Jan. 23)...WAC All-Academic.

High School: Record-holder in the 200 fly, 200 IM and 800 and 1500 free for the Ajax Swimming Club...named "Ironswimmer" of the Ontario province in 2007...finished 12th in the 200 fly and 400 IM at the World Championship Trials in Canada...also finished 19th in the 200 IM and 37th in the 100 fly.
