SAN DIEGOÂ - Boise State softball scored a total of 14 runs Saturday to complete a five-game sweep at the Torero Classic, hosted by San Diego.

The Broncos (6-4) routed FDU (4-4) 7-0 in the first game of the day and beat Utah Tech (4-5) 7-5 in the afternoon.

In the victory over FDU, five Broncos scored, with Brooklynn Pettis recording her first home run of her collegiate career. Brook Thompson (1-0) pitched a two-hit shutout for the Broncos for the first win of her collegiate career.

Against Utah Tech, the Broncos scored twice in the top of the second for a 2-0 lead. The Trailblazers responded in the bottom of the frame with a three-run home run for the lead.

Boise State exploded for five runs off of five hits in the fifth to take a 7-4 lead. The Trailblazers scored once in the bottom of the sixth, but the Broncos held them off in the final inning. Kasey Aguinaga (1-0) gave up one run in 3 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win in the circle.

What's Next - The Broncos will be back in action Friday, Feb. 24, to face Michigan at 1 p.m. MT in the Stanford Invitational, hosted by Stanford.
