
Broncos Eliminated from MW Tournament

SAN DIEGO – Boise State softball was eliminated after losing 2-1 to San Jose State in its second game Friday.
Boise State softball suffered a 2-1 loss to San Jose State, Friday and was eliminated from the Mountain West Championship. Earlier in the day, the Broncos (32-17) defeated Nevada 4-3 in eight innings.

The Spartans (26-27) scored a run in both the first and fourth innings, taking 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, the Broncos opened with three-straight hits, including an RBI-single from Eliyah Flores to cut their deficit to 2-1. Boise State had the bases loaded with one out, but could not get the tying run across.
Lindsey Walljasper (13-7) took the loss in the circle against San Jose State.
Against Nevada, Boise State was down to its final strike of the season when freshman Sydney Groves homered to tie the game 3-3 and force extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth, Autumn Bennett walked and beat the throw to second on a ground ball off the bat of Mykenzie Hanna. Eliyah Flores followed with a game-winning single.
The Broncos fell behind 2-0 and did not have a hit until the fifth inning. Bennett plated a run with a single and the tying run scored on a throwing error.
