Chris Petersen highlights a class of six to be inducted into the Boise State Athletics Hall of Fame
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026, as the group of six Bronco legends represent five sport programs from across three decades. The recognition in the Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors bestowed upon a former Bronco student-athlete.

The new inductees were unveiled in front of a sellout crowd at Albertsons Stadium on Saturday during the Broncos' football game against Fresno State.
Members of the class were selected by a distinguished panel of current and former Boise State administrators based on criteria that includes, but is not limited to the following elements:
- Any Boise State student-athlete or coach who has been selected for membership in any United States national athletic federation.
- Any Boise State student-athlete who has been a record holder.
- Any Boise State student-athlete who has been chosen as a member of the United States Olympic Team.
- Any Boise State team or individual that has won a national collegiate championship.
The induction ceremony's date and time will be announced at a later date. Additional details, including information on purchasing tickets, will be announced later as well.
Ryan Dinwiddie, Football (2000-03)
Ryan Dinwiddie finished his career at Boise State (2000-03) as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in program history. Dinwiddie compiled a 28-6 record as a Bronco starter, including a 20-2 record in conference play. He led the Broncos to back-to-back WAC regular season titles and bowl victories as an upperclassman. As a junior, Dinwiddie led Boise State to a 12-1 record and a No. 15 finish in the AP poll, while the Broncos finished 13-1 with a No. 16 AP ranking during his senior season.
A two-time All-WAC First Team recipient, Dinwiddie still holds several single-season Bronco records, including passing yards (4,356), yards of total offense l (4,399) and passing yards per game (311.1). Career-wise, Dinwiddie is second all-time in touchdowns responsible for (100), second in total yards per game (314.2), third in career passing yards (9,819) and third in passing touchdowns (82). He was an East-West Shrine Bowl participant in 2003 and completed his Bronco career by capturing the Fort Worth Bowl's MVP honors.
Derrick Marks, Men's Basketball (2011-15)
The 2014-15 Mountain West Player of the Year and 2015 Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention, Marks is still among Boise State's best scorers in program history. He currently ranks fifth in career points (1,912) while also ranking in the top five in free throws made (458—2nd), steals (190—3rd), field goals (669—4th) and assists (370—5th).
Appearing in 127 games (109 starts) spanning four collegiate seasons, Marks averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 47.2 percent from the floor. His 1,912 points in the four-year span were the most in the Mountain West and 14th in the country.
As a senior in 2014-15, Marks led Boise State to its first Mountain West regular-season title while starting all 32 games and averaging 19.4 points, which was tied for the fifth-highest single-season average by a Bronco at the time. Boise State went 25-9 that season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Marks was a two-time All-Mountain West selection in his career, including a first-team accolade as a senior. He also garnered USBWA and NABC All-District honors that season.
In conference history, Marks ranks second in 30-point games (10), fifth in steals (190), seventh in field goals (7th) and 10th in points (1,912). He is currently in his 11th season as a professional, playing for the UEB Cividale in Italy's Serie A2 Basket.
Chris Petersen, Football (2001-13)
Chris Petersen led the Boise State football program to excellence and national recognition while he was head coach from 2006-13. The Broncos won two Fiesta Bowls and three Las Vegas Bowls, with each Fiesta Bowl victory capping undefeated seasons for the Broncos (2006 and 2009).
"Coach Pete" was named the Paul "Bear" Bryant National Coach of the Year following each Fiesta Bowl season, becoming the first head coach to win the award multiple times. In 2010, the Broncos climbed as high as No. 2 in the AP Poll and Petersen was unanimously voted the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year. He boasted a 92-12 record, making him the winningest coach in Boise State's time as a four-year institution.
The first Fiesta Bowl was Boise State's debut in a BCS bowl and it has been described as one of the greatest collegiate games of all-time. The Broncos defeated Oklahoma in overtime, 43-42. Boise State famously tied the game with a hook-and-lateral in the final seconds of the fourth quarter before utilizing a halfback pass and the "Statue of Liberty" to earn the overtime victory over the Sooners. Three years later, Boise State became the first non-BCS school to win two BCS games with a 17-10 win over TCU.
Petersen developed 18 NFL Draft picks, including four first-round selections. A school-record six players were drafted in 2012. He mentored quarterback Kellen Moore, a Heisman Trophy finalist who set an FBS record with 50 wins. He produced 12 All-Americans who combined for 45 honors, including consensus picks Ryan Clady and Nate Potter. During his tenure, 51 Broncos earned first-team all-conference honors and another 29 were selected second-team all-conference.
Petersen's teams excelled in the classroom at the same high levels achieved on the field. In 2011, Boise State was the only school to finish in the top 10 in the Coaches' Poll (No. 6) and the AP Poll (No. 8) and also receive a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for finishing in the top-10 percent of the Academic Progress Rate. The Public Recognition Award was the second of three-straight such honors for Boise State from 2010-12. The Broncos tied for the second-highest APR in the country in 2011 (989), and posted the second-highest APR in the country in 2012 (993).
Shani Remme, Gymnastics (2016-19)
Shani Remme is one of the most accomplished gymnasts in Boise State history, qualifying for the NCAA Championships from 2016-18 and earning All-America status three times. She earned second-team All-America on beam and all-around in 2018 before replicating her second-team All-America effort on beam in 2019. Remme captured a pair of regional titles, winning on beam in 2016 and sharing the all-around crown in 2018.
The Loomis, Calif., native earned Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Freshman of the Year in 2016 and was a two-time MRGC Gymnast of the Year (2017-18). In 2017, she was also tabbed the league's Beam Specialist of the Year. She totaled eight All-MRGC First Team honors, garnering recognition on vault in 2017, bars and beam in 2018 and 2019, and all-around from 2017-19. Remme was recognized on the All-MRGC Second Team on floor in 2016 and 2019, as well as vault in 2019, a season that was cut short when she suffered a knee injury.
Remme remains the program record-holder in career wins on beam (23) and all-around (21), as well as single-season beam wins (7 in 2018). She is tied for the highest floor score in school history (9.950) and is tied for second in single-season all-around wins (8 in 2018) and single-meet all-around score (39.600 in 2019). The all-around standout ranks in the Broncos' top-three in single-season beam wins (6 in 2017) and career floor wins (13).
Throughout her four-year career, Remme was one of the most dominant gymnasts in the MRGC. On top of her 11 combined all-conference honors, she collected 50 weekly awards. She was a 27-time Gymnast of the Week, winning a league-high five times in 2017 and capturing 11 of a possible 12 honors in 2018. She was 23-time Specialist of the Week, earning the honor 14 times on beam, seven times on floor and six times on bars.
Remme was also accomplished in the classrooms, earning one of 25 nominations for the prestigious American Athletic, Inc. Award, given to the most outstanding senior collegiate gymnast in the country. She received Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association four times, helping Boise State achieve the nation's highest team GPA three times in four seasons. She was also a four-time Academic All-MRGC selection.
Kristie Schoffield, Track & Field (2017-22) - National champion
Kristie Schoffield became the fourth woman in Boise State track and field history, and the third in outdoor competition, to capture an individual national title when she won the 800 meters at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Her time of 1:59.80 remains the fastest in both program and Mountain West history.
The Concord, N.H., native concluded her Boise State career (2017-22) as a two-time first-team All-American, two-time second-team All-American and two-time honorable mention All-American in track and field. One of the most decorated athletes in Bronco track and field history, Schoffield was named Mountain West Female Athlete of the Year (2021-22), MW Outdoor Track and Field Women's Athlete of the Year (2022) and USTFCCCA Region Athlete of the Year (2022).
She captured conference titles as a two-time MW indoor champion (2019, distance medley relay; 2022, 800 meters) and MW outdoor champion (2022, 800 meters). Schoffield also earned three All-MW indoor and four All-MW outdoor honors during her career, along with three Academic All-MW selections.
Schoffield's name remains prominent in the Boise State record book. She ranks in the program's top five in the indoor 800 meters (third, 2:04.34), indoor mile (fifth, 4:43.43), distance medley relay (first, 10:55.42) and outdoor 800 meters (first, 1:59.80).
Raimee Sherle, Soccer (2016-19)
Raimee Sherle is the gold standard for Boise State women's soccer. In her junior season (2018), she became the first All-American in school history with a third-team selection by the United States Soccer Coaches Association. The following year, she earned a second-team honor.
A four-time All-Mountain West First Team selection, she was the 2016 MW Newcomer of the Year and two-time MW Offensive Player of the Year (2017 and 2018).
A native of Meridian, Idaho, Sherle attended Rocky Mountain High School before bursting onto the collegiate scene by leading the Broncos with seven goals and 16 points as a freshman. As a sophomore, she ranked third in the NCAA in both goals (18) and points (42), including a school-record seven-match streak with at least one goal.
As a junior, she tallied 20 goals, tied for tops in the nation, and led Boise State to a regular-season Mountain West championship. Her goal total also set school and conference records.
Her career was capped with a MW Tournament MVP as the Broncos advanced to the 2019 NCAA First Round. Sherle led the team in goals (16), assists (8) and points (40). She finished her career as the school and MW leader in goals (61) and points (138).
In the classroom, she was a four-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, 2016 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete, 2017 CoSIDA NCAA Division I Academic All-District 7 First Team selection and 2018 United States Soccer Coaches Second Team Scholar All-American.
