ATLANTA - Boise State coach Spencer Danielson is one of 18 head coaches named to the Dodd Trophy Midseason Watch List, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The award is given annually to the head coach of a team who finds success on the field while exemplifying the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity -  the three pillars of legendary coach Bobby Dodd's philosophy.

Danielson is the only Pac-12 coach recognized on the list. The SEC has six coaches represented, followed by the Big 10 (5), ACC (3), Big 12 (2). Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman rounds out the list.

This is the second time Danielson has landed on the award's midseason watch list, having appeared previously in 2024. He has been named to the preseason watch list for the award in each of the previous two seasons.

The Broncos hold a 5-1 record at the midpoint in the season, boasting a No. 23 ranking in the latest Associated Press poll and a No. 24 slot in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Boise State is currently on a five-game winning streak after suffering a loss to No. 2 Oregon in the season opener.

Danielson is looking for his 30th career victory on Oct. 24 against Washington State, entering the game with a 29-9 record. He has led the Broncos to three consecutive conference titles, joining Lincoln Riley (Oklahoma, 2017-19) as the only two coaches to win three consecutive FBS conference titles in the first three seasons of their career.

The selection process for the midseason watch list considers each program's Academic Progress Rate (APR), Graduation Success Rate (GSR), commitment to service and charity in the community, and success during the 2026 campaign.

The winner of the 2026 Dodd Trophy will be announced during the week of the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
