BOISE, Idaho – One of the most defining figures in Boise State history will raise the Blue Chaos flag Saturday night as Kellen Moore returns to The Blue for the unveiling of his statue.
The 11-foot bronze statue will be unveiled on the field at halftime of the game against Texas State following the performance by the Blue Thunder Marching Band. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. MT.
"We're grateful for Kellen and his family choosing to come back to Boise to make this weekend even more memorable," said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Director of Athletics. "Once a Bronco, Always a Bronco, and to celebrate the winningest quarterback in college football history in front of Bronco Nation will be ELITE! Kellen represents everything in what it means to be a Bronco. We can't wait to honor his legacy by unveiling the statue on the field on Saturday night. What's Next!"
A four-time first-team All-American and Boise State's first Heisman Trophy finalist, Moore (2008-11) led the team to a remarkable 50-3 record as a starting quarterback – the best win percentage for a quarterback in college football history. He finished his career ranked second in NCAA history in career passing touchdowns (142), third in career passing efficiency (168.97) and fifth in career passing yardage (14,667).
Moore was a two-time finalist for the Maxwell Award (2010-11) and also earned finalist consideration for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (2011), the Manning Award (2011) and the Davey O'Brien Award (2010). He was inducted into the Boise State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.
Moore is currently in his second season as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. He won the Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2024 season.
His Bronco legacy was permanently etched inside Albertsons Stadium prior to the 2026 campaign with the installation of orange sideline hash marks at the 11-yard lines on both sides of the field. The orange markings, also placed at the 2-yard line to recognize Ashton Jeanty, were created to recognize the transformational impact of the two Heisman candidates.
The 11-foot bronze statue will be permanently placed outside the northeast corner of Albertsons Stadium near the Entry 1 Plaza. The recognition marks the second bronze statue around Albertsons Stadium, joining legendary Boise State coach Lyle Smith, whose statue is located in front of the Allen Noble Hall of Fame.
The inaugural Blue After Dark game, fans are encouraged to wear black to the contest. Costumes are welcome both inside and outside the stadium, but any mask or face covering must be removed when passing through the security checkpoints at all gates. Saturday's game will be televised nationally on The CW.
